Welcome to Western Australia's first Muslim community newspaper. The newspaper is published by a local company, Crescent Press Pty Ltd, with the aim of serving the Muslim community.
We aim to inform the community by publishing news of interest to our Muslim brothers and sisters, including reports of events locally, nationally and internationally. In addition we hope to provide details about information and services available to the Muslim community as well as providing an outlet for Muslim owned or operated businesses to advertise their services.
In addition we will work to support our brothers and sisters who are starting up their own businesses through providing advertising, promotion and referral to services that may assist them. The classified section will enable placement of free advertising for individuals who have items to sell or give away as well as space for employment opportunities to be advertised. We hope that the newspaper will bring our community closer together, strengthen our relationships and provide a bridge to facilitate integration with our wider community.
The family is the central unit of our community and we will provide a number of features of interest to families including information about health and the health care system and raising children. Each edition will provide space for announcement of births and publication of photographs of our children. Readers recipes will also be featured. We hope that these features will encourage readers to keep and refer to the paper over the course of the month and make it a really useful publication.
In all of our aims we are guided by Allah and indeed it is only by his will that we can achieve anything. Insha Allah you will support the newspaper; together we can build a stronger community.
